Budapest was crowned the best Christmas market in Europe for 2023 so this year, I had to jump on a plane and return to one of my favourite European cities to experience the festivities! The Hungarian capital truly comes alive during the festive season, with sparkling lights, beautiful trees, an abundance of stalls, and of course Santa Claus roaming around the city.
The famous Christmas markets are held in Vörösmarty Square, Fashion Street and outside St.Stephen’s Basilica, all in the centre of town. They feature festive light shows, music, delicious food, mulled wine, spicy aromas in the air, and over 100 different types of stalls.
