There’s no denying that 2020 has been a difficult year for us all, but thankfully the sparkly Christmas light displays have gone up around the capital, to bring some much needed joy into our lives!
Here are the displays that I love the most from this year’s collection in London’s West End. If you are not able to go and see them in person this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, I hope you can enjoy them from my photos 🙂
St. Pancras International never fails to impress with it’s annual Christmas tree. This year’s display has been unveiled as the 34ft high ‘Tree of Hope’, in partnership with EL&N London (formerly known as Élan Café).
A year ago today, I jetted off to Los Angeles, surely the most glamorous city in the United States. I can’t help but reminisce on the amazing time I had with friends, from ticking the Hollywood Sign off our bucket lists, to going to the end of America’s most famous road, Route 66. The glitz and glamour of the City of Angels, together with breathtaking views, iconic palm trees, pretty beaches and incredible mountains, make this city a photographer’s heaven. Here’s the top spots I recommend for when you visit, which will no doubt add lots of sparkle to your Insta feed!
Today has been another sad day for the aviation industry and for avgeeks, with the two final BA 747s taking off for their last flights this morning, from London’s Heathrow Airport.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone and everything, including quickly changing the way cities now look and operate.
In London, as in many cities around the world, health protection has been built into the urban landscape, in order for day-to-day activities to resume safely. Whilst tourist numbers are down in London, those who do come can be reassured by the safety measures in place.
This photo blog portrays some of the initiatives that have been adopted in the capital, including widened pavements to enable social distancing, hand sanitisers in key locations such as Piccadilly Circus, and clear signs and road markings to remind people on how to prevent the virus from spreading.

I had the pleasure of staying here during my week in Athens earlier this year – from my spacious suite to the delicious food, from the breathtaking roof terrace views to the impeccable staff service – check out my review of the hotel!

It’s yet another day and week of being stuck indoors, with Covid-19 restricting both national and international travel. Do you miss exploring the world around you?

It’s always a good idea to have a travel itinerary for any adventure. Having an itinerary means you won’t be spending hours in your hotel room trying to think about what to do for the day, as everything would have been planned in advance.
I often get asked how I plan my trips – including how I manage to fit in visiting lots of places into a day, to how I choose restaurants and modes of transport.
For any adventure abroad, I always create a travel itinerary to ensure I visit the best places and maximise the amount of time whilst on holiday. In this blog post, I’m going to show you how to create the perfect itinerary, with a recent example I did for Toronto, so you can make the most of your future city breaks!
