South Korea’s capital, Seoul, is a photographer’s dream city. It is a metropolis of stark contrasts. From its historic neighbourhoods and palaces, to the bustling shopping streets and skyscrapers of the modern city, you will be spoilt for choice for photo spots.
In this blog, I list my four top places to photograph when you visit Seoul, with pictures that I took whilst I was in the city. As you will see, I used some interesting photography props, from Scrabble letters to my favourite glass ball, and doing the ‘follow me to’ trend.
There are so many beautiful cities in Europe, but Lisbon is definitely one of the best I have visited. It is the oldest city in Western Europe, with incredible historical sights, majestic panoramic views and vintage wooden trams. Lisbon is known as ‘the city of light’, owing to the sunshine which brightens the entire capital, with approximately 220 days of sunlight each year! I flew to Lisbon for a weekend break and carefully planned my trip beforehand, to make the most of my 48 hours there. Is Lisbon on your list of places to visit? Today, the snow brightened up another lockdown Sunday and brought with it some much needed cheer and happiness!
This continues to be an unprecedented time for travellers, with countries in lockdown, borders closed and flights cancelled. With the new strains of COVID-19 dampening any optimism of travelling abroad in the near future, I have compiled a new list for 2021, on how you can keep your wanderlust alive, from the comfort of your own home.
I launched my travel blog in February 2020. I was so excited to be able to document my travels on this new platform, that I jetted off to beautiful Greece for my first adventure of the year at the end of February. Little did I know at the time that this would be my first and only trip abroad this year.
In 2020, I was looking forward to exploring new cities in North and South America and Asia, and blogging about my next adventures. I would never have imagined that within weeks of my first trip, travelling the world would come to such an abrupt stop. With borders closed internationally, the COVID-19 pandemic quickly turned 2020 into the lost year for travel.
There’s no denying that 2020 has been a difficult year for us all, but thankfully the sparkly Christmas light displays have gone up around the capital, to bring some much needed joy into our lives!
Here are the displays that I love the most from this year’s collection in London’s West End. If you are not able to go and see them in person this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, I hope you can enjoy them from my photos 🙂
St. Pancras International never fails to impress with it’s annual Christmas tree. This year’s display has been unveiled as the 34ft high ‘Tree of Hope’, in partnership with EL&N London (formerly known as Élan Café).
A year ago today, I jetted off to Los Angeles, surely the most glamorous city in the United States. I can’t help but reminisce on the amazing time I had with friends, from ticking the Hollywood Sign off our bucket lists, to going to the end of America’s most famous road, Route 66. The glitz and glamour of the City of Angels, together with breathtaking views, iconic palm trees, pretty beaches and incredible mountains, make this city a photographer’s heaven. Here’s the top spots I recommend for when you visit, which will no doubt add lots of sparkle to your Insta feed!
Today has been another sad day for the aviation industry and for avgeeks, with the two final BA 747s taking off for their last flights this morning, from London’s Heathrow Airport.
