Australia has never felt closer! In a major milestone for the aviation industry, Qantas has announced its Project Sunrise A350 mission, operating the world’s longest direct flight from London Heathrow to Sydney from 2025.
Qantas has ordered a brand new fleet of 12 Airbus A350-1000s, which will operate from both London and New York to Sydney, taking approximately 20 hours and flying about 11,000 miles.
The longest flights I have previously done are from Malaysia and Japan to London, both of which took about 14 hours. Although I have never been able to sleep on a plane and have crazy jet lag when I land, Qantas’ 20-hour flight is a game changer. Here’s why I am up for it and why you should consider it too…

Since the first day I stepped foot in Malta, I have developed a Maltese balcony obsession. Malta’s balconies, otherwise known as the gallarija, are traditional elements of the country’s architecture. They became popular in the late 17th century, with the first balconies featuring at Valletta’s Grand Master’s Palace, which then set off this spectacular trend. I have been in complete awe of them, including their colours and structures, and how they feature on buildings all over the country. Interestingly, the colour of the balcony is matched to the door of that particular building. It is only right that I dedicate an entire blog post to photos of these architectural wonders…

The Egyptian resort of Taba Heights is situated in the magical Sinai Peninsula on the Red Sea coast. It is less well known compared to other popular resorts like Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, and is isolated from the rest of Egypt, so it is definitely worth considering staying in Taba if you are planning on going to Egypt! I loved my time in Taba and here’s why…
