National Express is one of the most sustainable coach companies in the UK, and it was exciting to collaborate with them at the weekend, on an eco-friendly trip to Canterbury, the historic gem of Kent. In this blog post, I outline why I really enjoyed travelling with National Express from an environmental perspective, followed by my favourite sights in Canterbury. If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of travelling with National Express, you can read my earlier blog post about my first adventure with them here.
2021 has been all about staycations. This summer, I have visited Brighton, Portsmouth, Windsor, Edinburgh, Bristol and Cambridge.
However, we all know that travelling, even within our home country, can become very expensive. To save on costs for my recent two-day trip to Bristol, I decided to travel with National Express for the first time! Continue reading to see how much I saved and the reasons why I loved travelling by coach…
Portsmouth is known as the UK’s ‘great waterfront city’, featuring a historic dockyard and naval base. Its location on England’s south coast makes it the perfect destination for a day trip or weekend staycation from London. I visited this port city at the end of June for the first time and loved it! Continue reading to find out the best things to do in Portsmouth in a day…
After over a year of lockdowns, I have been craving a holiday for a very long time. Despite the fact that restrictions are starting to ease, the UK’s travel traffic light system realistically means that a holiday abroad still feels quite far from reach. With that in mind, I am planning to go on a few UK staycations, which I hope inspire you to explore your home country too! I went to Brighton, in East Sussex, during the end of May bank holiday weekend and with great company, sizzling sunshine and blue seas, definitely had the best time! Here are the top things to do whilst on a staycation in this vibrant city by the sea.
Today, the snow brightened up another lockdown Sunday and brought with it some much needed cheer and happiness!
There’s no denying that 2020 has been a difficult year for us all, but thankfully the sparkly Christmas light displays have gone up around the capital, to bring some much needed joy into our lives!
Here are the displays that I love the most from this year’s collection in London’s West End. If you are not able to go and see them in person this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, I hope you can enjoy them from my photos 🙂
St. Pancras International never fails to impress with it’s annual Christmas tree. This year’s display has been unveiled as the 34ft high ‘Tree of Hope’, in partnership with EL&N London (formerly known as Élan Café).
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone and everything, including quickly changing the way cities now look and operate.
In London, as in many cities around the world, health protection has been built into the urban landscape, in order for day-to-day activities to resume safely. Whilst tourist numbers are down in London, those who do come can be reassured by the safety measures in place.
This photo blog portrays some of the initiatives that have been adopted in the capital, including widened pavements to enable social distancing, hand sanitisers in key locations such as Piccadilly Circus, and clear signs and road markings to remind people on how to prevent the virus from spreading.
After Christmas and New Year, the next thing I always look forward to is the deLIGHTful Canary Wharf Winter Lights display!
January saw the return of the award-winning displays for the sixth year. This year was the busiest it’s ever been, with thousands of people going to see the 25 dazzling installations.
