Montenegro is a beautiful country in the Balkans, known for its distinctive landscapes, majestic mountains, crystal clear waters, medieval villages and home to Europe’s southernmost fjord. Kotor is a fortified fairytale town, tucked away on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in southern Europe. It is famously known as the Pearl of Montenegro.
Kotor’s medieval Old Town is filled with winding streets, photogenic squares, and centuries-old churches. Similar to Dubrovnik, it is a well preserved medieval walled town. It sits at the foot of Mount Lovcen at the southern tip of Boka Bay.
The Bay of Kotor, also known as the Boka, is a winding bay of the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro. It is one of the Mediterranean’s most distinctive landscapes and is also the southernmost part of the historical region of Dalmatia.

The idyllic town of Perast is located in the Bay of Kotor. It is situated northwest of Kotor and is known for it’s close proximity to the islands of St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks. This charming town is the perfect place to take some iconic photos and catch a true glimpse into Montenegro’s rich history.
This is one of the two iconic islands in the Bay of Kotor, which is situated in the Adriatic Sea across from Perast. Our Lady of the Rocks is a man-made artificial island, which was made by the seaman from Perast and Kotor.
The church dates back to 1722 and houses a 15th century statue of the Virgin Mary, now known as Our Lady of the Rocks.
