For my first adventure of the decade, I visited Athens and without a doubt, it exceeded my expectations! This city is filled with centuries of ancient history and colourful neighbourhoods, coupled with iconic sights, incredible views and breathtaking sunsets. It is one of the oldest cities in the world with a history that goes back over 3,000 years. January saw the return of the award-winning displays for the sixth year. This year was the busiest it’s ever been, with thousands of people going to see the 25 dazzling installations.
London always knows how to ring in a new year in style. Since I was little, I’ve always watched London’s dazzling fireworks display on TV – it’s the best in the world – but I’ve never been able to go and see them in person…until this year.
2020 is a big year. It’s a new decade. So if there was any year I went to see the fireworks from the prime spot right opposite the London Eye, it had to be this year. And I am so glad I did!
