A review of Dubai’s Villa Rotana

A review of Dubai’s Villa Rotana

Dubai is my favourite place to visit. The emirate has some pretty spectacular hotels and during my most recent trip, I stayed at the beautiful Villa Rotana. Here’s the top five things I loved about the hotel…

1) Convenient location

Villa Rotana, in the heart of downtown Dubai, is conveniently located on Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s only a few minutes walk away from the Business Bay metro station, and a 20 minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

The best aspect for me is the fact that it’s located right opposite the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall!

2) Stunning views

I upgraded to stay in the Burj Khalifa premium suite and the memories I have of waking up to seeing the world’s tallest building right in front of me is something I will cherish forever!

There are 118 rooms and these include studios, one-bedroom suites, premium double rooms and king suites, all at reasonable prices.

The suites offer impressive views of the Burj Khalifa and of the many other magnificent skyscrapers in downtown Dubai.

3) Great food

Villa Rotana’s restaurant offers an endless variety of international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For example, just for breakfast alone, the Indian options include masala dosa, idli, bhajias and puris with curry. However, if like me you prefer a lighter choice of food in the morning, there’s plenty of choice including a wide range of cereals, fruits and pastries!

4) Friendly staff

All the staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming, and are always happy to help. My flight landed very early in the morning and I arrived at the hotel around 6am, but check-in didn’t start until 2pm. The reception desk staff happily took care of my luggage and I was able to use the facilities on the ground floor to freshen up, before going out and about.

5) Roof terrace and recreational amenities

Villa Rotana’s roof terrace offers incredible 360° views – from the Burj Al Arab, Atlantis Hotel and Palm Islands on one end, to views of downtown Dubai’s skyline through to Deira on the other.

An added bonus is the rooftop swimming pool – perfect to dip into during the day when temperatures soar to up to 40°C!

In addition, there are two hot tubs on site, a gym, sauna and a jacuzzi. There’s also complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel.

Definitely consider staying at this hotel on your next trip to Dubai!
