Aesthetics and appearance

The DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole is a wonderful gem that enchants guests with its charm, elegance and uniqueness. The hotel was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, who also designed London’s famous Natural History Museum. Its grand opening was in 1890 and there have been many famous guests over the years, including former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

The hotel recently had a £26 million upgrade but the heritage and character of the original building still shines through. From the impressive marble staircase to the numerous twinkling chandeliers, the hotel is elegant and classy.

Room

From floor to ceiling, my king superior room was stunning. It had all the features and amenities needed for the most perfect experience – from a comfortable king-sized bed and a luxurious bathroom, to a relaxing sofa and a gorgeous sea view. It was spacious and cosy and I loved the extra special touches, including the thoughtful welcome gifts. My favourite part was of course the breathtaking view – I was always drawn to the window especially during the sunset…

Location

The location of this majestic hotel is perfect, overlooking the Brighton seafront, and it is only a stone’s throw away from the Brighton i360, the old pier and Brighton Palace Pier.

I rode to the top of the i360 at 450ft for the best views across Brighton, the South Downs and the South coast, and had a drink at the Sky Bar 360. The newly opened Skate 360 is Brighton’s only open-air skate rink and is another exhilarating activity. And if that wasn’t enough, Sixes Social Cricket have just launched their first beachfront location at the i360, where you can have an immersive cricket experience, alongside wood-fired pizzas, burgers and drinks. These beachside activities are all located just opposite the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole.

Breakfast

A luxury breakfast is served at the hotel’s 1890 At The Met restaurant. There is an extensive range of hot and cold food options, including cereals, fruits, pastries, yoghurts and hot dishes. Eating breakfast with beautiful views of Brighton Beach is the perfect way to start the day.

Fitness and recreation

The DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole has an indoor pool, fitness centre, sauna and a spa, ideal for relaxing and recharging.

Staff service

The staff service and hospitality is impeccable – guests receive a 5-star service from the moment they walk into the hotel. The complimentary welcome cookie when checking-in was a really nice touch! From the front desk staff to the room cleaners, they all go above and beyond to make guest experiences memorable, they always say hello and have a smile on their faces!

If you are planning a trip to Brighton soon, the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole is definitely the best place to stay!
