Upon taking my first steps into the hotel, I was greeted with a heartfelt Romanian welcome in true Mercure hospitality style. The front of house team on the 24-hour reception desk are really welcoming and friendly, making checking in and out effortless and they’re always on hand to answer any questions.
The hotel features an elegant lobby, embracing a tranquil colour scheme and minimalist design.
Mercure Bucharest Unirii has 95 newly refurbished rooms and suites. Each one features everything guests need to relax.
The hotel offers the best room view in town – my room was on the 9th floor facing west which provided an incredible panoramic view of the Romanian Parliament building. My favourite moments were watching the beautiful sunrise and sunsets!

A buffet breakfast is provided in the hotel’s Library Restaurant. There is a wide variety of food and drinks, including fresh food from the Romanian countryside, the perfect way to start the day exploring Bucharest.
The restaurant also provides lunch and dinner, with à la carte home-style Romanian dishes and international favourites, wines from local vineyards, and snacks throughout the day.
Mercure Bucharest Unirii is centrally located, being just a short walk away from the iconic fountains on the main square of Piața Unirii, the Old Town, and the shopping and business districts.
The broad, tree-lined avenue Bulevardul Uniiri is adjacent to the hotel which leads to the Palace of Parliament, one of the world’s largest buildings and home to the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
The hotel is well connected to public transport, including the Bucharest metro lines and the bus network – the airport is a direct bus ride away. The hotel also has free parking for all guests.
If you’re planning a trip to Bucharest, I highly recommend you stay at the Mercure Bucharest Unirii.
